Dame Patience Jonathan |
The
first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan is to lead a protest march to Borno state
governor, Kashim Shettima over the 234 girls abducted Chibok by insurgents.
Mrs.
Jonathan reached the decision after a meeting she convened in Abuja which was
well attended by spouses of state governors, female legislators at both federal
and state levels, as well as leaders of various women organizations.

At
the end of the meeting a six-member committee was set by dame Jonathan to be chaired
by wife of Borno State governor, Hajiya Nana Shettima. The committee is
mandated to conduct more investigation into the controversy surrounding the
abduction of the school girls
The
media assistant to the first lady, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi noted in a statement that
the committee was to invite key persons related to the abducted girls and also the
Commissioner of Police in Borno and the DPO covering Chibok so as to shed light
on the controversies surrounding the abduction on Sunday May 4, 2014 after
which the women may undertake a protest march to be led by Dame Patience
Jonathan to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.
