Louis Van Gaal will be given a bumper war-chest of around £200m to spend when he is announced as the next Old Trafford boss.

Cesc Fabregas, Marco Reus, Kevin Strootman, Mats Hummels and Toni Kroos are among the players Van Gaal is interested in - and director Charlton is eager to see the new boss get to work.

He said: "We will have to buy a couple of players, which will happen.
