Father
of popular Nigerian entertainer, music star and power bike freak, Charles
Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa is dead.
A
retired Justice of the Supreme Court, the senior Oputa died today, Sunday, May
4, 2014 after having a prolonged bout with an undisclosed illness.
The
late erudite legal luminary was aged 96 years old.

He was
also chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, popularly referred to
the Oputa Panel instituted by ex-President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to inquire
into activities of the jackboot military leadership in the nation in the past.
